My client is a distributor of products and logistical services to manufacturing businesses around the globe. This company has been established for many years and continues to grow in staff numbers (180 worldwide in 8 countries) and has a sales turnover of £100million.

We are now recruiting for an Account Manager to join their existing team.

In this role you will be looking after a portfolio of existing clients from the Aerospace and Defence Sectors. These clients need to be account managed effectively, and it will be your responsibility to maximise all revenue streams available. This is a varied role as it also involves the sourcing of products in respect of the clients' order requirements using Suppliers across UK, Europe and beyond. These clients tend to be rather complex, so a well organised approach to work is essential.

The ideal person would have either worked in sales previously or business development experience and have strong B2B account management experience.

The main aim of this role is to ensure the smooth running of your individual accounts maintaining customer satisfaction and retention at all times. You will have administrative support assisting you with your day to day duties; however, this is still a very heavily-based admin role.

You will be part of a team that works to KPI targets so there is commission to be made once you have passed your 6 month probation.

Duties will include:
  • Quoting on products
  • Sourcing parts from suppliers
  • Progressing orders through from start to finish
  • Strategic Margin Management
  • Alerting clients if orders are late or products not easily sourced
  • Dealing with returns, invoice queries & credit notes
  • Responsible for export compliance paperwork
  • Strategic margin management, working directly with Strategic Account Manager (Field Sales) and Department heads to agree and structure customer account development
  • Confident in business-to-business situation, attending and hosting visits both with and without Strategic Account Manager or Director.
  • Customer contract/agreement and KPI detailed knowledge and adherence to

The Ideal Person:

  • Comfortable on the telephone in front of others
  • Competitive and target driven
  • Attention to detail
  • Competent in all aspects of Microsoft Office
  • Accuracy of written communication
  • Comfortable with Face-to-Face visits - both Customer and Supplier
  • Can happily work alone
  • Comfortable with flexible hours
  • Must be able to work under pressure and to targets
  • Take complete responsibility for the smooth running of your account/s

Basic Salary £30,000 to £35,000 plus uncapped bonus after 6-month probation (£10k is achievable)
