Part of a global network; a leading technology company has a new vacancy for an Environmental Management Consultant to join the business on an interim basis as the company goes through substantial expansion and change. Applicants are sought with a proven track record of providing Environmental management guidance within a complex environment.
Commutable from: Bristol, Bath, Stroud, Newport, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Swindon.
Rate: Dependent on experience.
Suitable for: Environmental Management Consultant, Environmental Manager, Environmental Consultant, EHS Manager.
Support with implementing QHSE strategy, leading all environmental projects and campaigns
Develop and implement an effective environmental management system in alignment with ISO 14001.
Provide expertise, solutions, and advice in environment and to deliver integrated solutions and improvements to the management system through audits, inspections, compliance evaluations and reviews.
Ensure compliance with legislation and inform key stakeholders of upcoming changes
To develop environmental operational control plans for waste management, chemical management etc.
Contribution to the development of the environmental KPIs and objectives for the business.
Support the preparations for the management systems review meetings in line with ISO 14001 requirements.
Identify environmental competence gaps for employees (working with the L&D team) and implement training solutions and assure effectiveness.
Organise emergency drills / scenario planning for spill management.
Lead and support ISO 14001 certification audit process.
Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and produce reports to communicate lessons learnt.
Manage the approval process for COSHH assessment / chemical management
With proven experience at a senior level in Environmental Management you will have strong influencing skills and will previously have worked in a complex environment such as manufacturing/engineering environment (or similar).
Candidates will be preferably NEBOSH qualified and have a 'hands on' approach to EHS, working with multiple teams to motivate and improve attitudes towards Environmental Management on site. With up to date knowledge of current health and safety practises you will be able to demonstrate a high standard of quality and accuracy in day to day activities.
