Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant to join us on a fixed term basis of 6 months to begin with. This role works closely with the Site Finance Business Partner and supports them in ensuring the accuracy of the accounts and the provision of timely information to the Business. They are responsible for implementing and maintaining the controls required, to ensure the accuracy of the accounts. They will be primarily focused on the Newport site, however they will work closely with the UK Business Finance team and the management accountant for Bradford and Newmarket. The Newport site is currently working on a Fourth Shift system.

Job Requirements

Standard setting and reporting on actual performance
  • To understand the assumptions in built in standards and review the actual performance.
  • Assist the Finance business partner with Annual standard review with a particular focus on raw material standards.
  • Prepare site Gross Margin and Inventory analysis reports.
  • Track and report on savings initiatives such as GMI and procurement.

Inventory and variance reporting
  • Calculation of stock provisioning requirements in line with the accounting policy manual.
  • Monitor the results of inventory cycle count and work with the Supply Chain to investigate the root cause and agree process improvements.
  • Attend quarterly and annual stock takes.
  • Analyse materials variances inclusive of PPV and material yield variance.
  • Report on working capital.
  • Review the weekly production variance report.

Business support and other Duties
  • Support Budget and forecast process with particular focus on COGS.
  • Support annual plan process for site, with specific input into materials, overheads and working capital.
  • Provide financial support to New product , Continuous Improvement and procurement initiatives.
  • Cost supplier reject compensation requests.
  • Be responsible for the site Fixed Asset register inclusive of asset verification on bi-annual basis.
  • Assist in Minimum Control Standards audits.
  • Reporting into Cognos Controller for appropriate areas.
  • Periodic review of BOM assumptions (Lot Size, Waste, Machine Rates), labour and overhead rates.
  • Support Finance business partner in data cleansing reviews, such as BOM's and other systems data.
  • Review the goods received not invoiced report supplied by SSC and ensure the timely closure of older items.
  • Will be required to undertake adhoc analysis as require by the Finance Business Partner.
