We are looking for a Finance Operations Team Leader to come on board with us on a temporary basis to lead, develop and motivate a team to deliver operational requirements by monitoring, co-ordinating and coaching in work practices and appropriate behaviours, carrying out employee reviews and managing performance issues.
You'll be based at home and will occasionally travel to an assigned office in Plymouth.
This role is being advertised as a temporary role and has an end date of 30/11/2022.

Job Description:

What will you be doing?
  • Communicate regularly with the team, encouraging learning and change, challenging own and others thinking and to ensure the team are fully engaged with priorities, decisions and changes which may occur
  • Carry out all required team management and administrative activities, including reviews, performance management processes and action on individual performance issues, to ensure the smooth functioning of the team.
  • Manage risks and opportunities in relation to departmental guidelines, identify and escalate gaps in controls, or serious breaches in line with departmental standards
  • Resolve queries and issues escalated from staff, other departments and clients, further escalating significant problems as appropriate and identifying and highlighting trends/emerging issues to enable their early resolution.
  • Undertake appropriate checks to ensure compliance and implement remediation activity as appropriate
  • Support and manage (from a departmental standpoint) all transformational changes.

What are we looking for?
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft office
  • English and Maths GCSE, at least Grade C
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data, and identify trends
  • Ability to prioritise own workload
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to challenge upwards
  • Ability to manage and develop members of the team.

Western Mortgage Services (WMS) is part of Private Sector Partnerships. Its primary client is Co-op Bank and provides mortgage outsourcing services including loan origination, account servicing, collections and recoveries. Its main offices are situated in Leek, Staffordshire and Plymouth, Devon.
