Outsourcing is a key service offered by RSM to its client base, both in the UK and internationally, driving key relationships on the back of long-term annuity engagements in its chosen mid-market space. At present across RSM, this includes functions such as payroll, transactional processing, bookkeeping and company secretarial duties. RSM's offering is considered a valuable resource by businesses within the UK who see the cost, time, and resource benefit of outsourcing these functions. It is also a beneficial tool for international organisations looking to invest into the UK and for more established multi-national corporations looking for a consistent global outsourced service. Utilising RSM's outsourcing services removes the burden of managing a finance function and the associated regulatory requirements.
To progress the OTS strategy, a shared service centre (SSC) has been established Belfast, and NetSuite ERP has been implemented as our software of choice to provide outsourced business services to our clients.
Reporting to the Management Accounting Assistant Director, the Outsourcing Manager is a key role within the Belfast management accounting team responsible for leading the monthly management accounting processes for a portfolio of clients. This also includes the transition and stabilisation of new and more complex clients through understanding their business, building processes for production of month end management accounts and training junior team members. The successful candidate will be comfortable in a rapidly changing and growing environment and enjoy the challenge of learning about new clients, developing high quality outputs and passing knowledge on to others in a structured way.
Roles & responsibilities
Monthly management accounting operations

Completes month end accounting processes for a portfolio of clients, and drafts procedural training documentation to support delegation to other team members, and knowledge sharing;
Trains and delegates to junior team members, reviews their work providing comments for clearance;
Manages the budget of engagements, develops 'steady state' targets for budget;
Manages the scope of client engagements, identifying additional out of scope work
Reviews month end processes for efficiencies

Transition & stabilisation of client engagements
Is responsible for the transition of new clients through to stabilisation when the work is ready for a full handover to more junior members of the management accounting team. This includes but is not limited to:
a) Participation in new client design workshops to understand end to end processes, client business/operations, and agreed scope of work;
b) Development of 'client knowledge guide' which documents all relevant client information for the operational management accounting team;
c) Works with the Service Delivery Lead on the set up of the client engagement on internal RSM systems
d) Initiation of monthly management accounting operational processes;
e) Assessment of the suitability of client work for full handover to more junior staff members

Stakeholder management
Builds excellent stakeholder relationships and is regarded as a 'trusted advisor'.
Uses effective communication methods, both written and verbal to ensure all stakeholders are kept fully informed of progress on service delivery, raising risks and issues on a timely basis;
Builds a strong reputation for delivering a quality, timely product recognising that this is a key ingredient of future success with our internal clients;

Team training
Acts as a strong role model, coaches and develops team members to perform at their best;
Identify technical training needs, and work with individuals and the team to ensure gaps are filled;
Anticipates resource requirements and works closely with the Management Accounting Assistant Director to ensure no interruption to service;
