Pension Payroll Coordinator

We are recruiting a Pension Payroll Coordinator to provide a high quality payroll service to clients and customers. Completing payroll reconciliations and reviewing payroll controls, the successful candidate will supervise administrators and monitor work activities.

We will count on you to:

Support the Pension Payroll Manager in managing an efficient payroll team and providing an excellent service to internal and external customers by:

  • Monitoring the quality and accuracy of payroll administration and reconciliation for designated schemes to ensure all payrolls are run on time to cut-off schedules
  • Authorising payrolls to ensure the BACS payments are submitted
  • Being flexible and taking a positive and proactive approach to customer service and meeting all SLA processes and authorisations
  • Ensuring all team members you are responsible for are fulfilling their responsibilities in accordance with deadlines such as PAYEs and payment of pensioners in accordance with Trust Deed and Rules
  • Identifying errors, risks and taking corrective action ensuring member responses are dealt with in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist in maintaining a low level of complaints and E&Os, controlling overpayment of pensions and ensuring supporting documentation is completed in a timely manner
  • Commit to gaining relevant knowledge for designated clients making sure they are implemented and escalated where relevant and ensuring working documents are produced to minimise risks.
  • Support our aims of teamwork, collaboration, growth and development by completing performance reviews, identify and support staff training needs whilst maintaining the skills matrix and hold regular meetings with direct reports to maintain focus.

What you need to have:
  • Experience of working in a payroll environment preferably at a supervisory level
  • Strong attention to detail with numerical or analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good computer literacy including MS Office
  • Flexible and proactive approach to work
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Excellent organisation, verbal and written communication, reasoning, and time management skills
  • Good customer service abilities, including verbal and written experience

  • Previous payroll experience at a management or supervisory level
  • CIPP Qualified
  • Experience of working on bespoke, pension or niche payrolls
  • Stakeholder management skills with clients, customers or members, 3rd parties and colleagues
