First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) Team Leader

Basingstoke, Hampshire (RG21)

Up to £57,000 Salary (Full Time, Permanent 37.5 Hours)

We're currently working with one of the UK's largest healthcare providers who are looking for a First Contact Physiotherapist Team Leader to join their Physiotherapy department. The job role covers managing the First Contact Practitioner's directly and indirectly in the North Hampshire area. The successful candidate will need to be able to travel out to other clinician's clinics. Work remotely and in clinic in Basingstoke.

Applicants will be;

* 5 years post graduate experience with minimum 3 years' experience in MSK

* Relevant evidence of CPD, Member of HCPC and CSP

* Up to date with effective orthopaedic and MSK practice and research and related fields of Practice

* Understanding of scope of practice issues and legal accountability and responsibilities

* At least 3 years' experience working in a musculoskeletal setting

* Ability to justify clinical decisions with Consultants, GPwSI's, Physiotherapists and GPs

* Extensive knowledge of MSK conditions and good grounding in Rheumatology, Neuro, vascular to aid onward referral.

* Used to requesting diagnostics and referring on appropriately

* Injecting skills/prescribing valuable skills to have

* Flexible with Travel

Duties include;

* To undertake highly specialised & comprehensive neuro-musculoskeletal assessments, of routine and complex patients in the GP setting.

* To form accurate diagnoses, management plans and prognosis, using advanced clinical reasoning skills, knowledge of best current clinical and evidence based practice and assimilation/interpretation of clinical diagnostic tests

* To independently and appropriately refer into the iMSK service for diagnostic procedures such as MRI, USS, X-Ray and NCS

* To be able to independently administer joint and soft tissue injections (or willing to work towards such a skill)

* Contribute to, and participate in, on-going development/IST within the MSK team

* To work in a unified manner with other team members across the MSK service in following, and developing, clinical pathways

* To keep abreast of national clinical and professional agendas and published frameworks, guidance, standards, policies and protocols relevant to the service e.g. NICE, NJR, Royal Colleges
