We are currently looking to recruit an experienced legal cashier for a short period of 2 - 4 weeks who will be responsible for managing the office & client accounts, paying court fees and disbursements, processing invoices and chasing 3rd parties for payment.
Duties
Taking responsibility for the company's financial matters and interests including client money controls, bank reconciliations and payment processing.
Consulting with clients, law firms, and businesses on financial concerns.
Scrutinising large transactions.
Working to develop and continually enhance existing banking and cashiering processes, implementing strong controls where possible.
Recording all transactions in the appropriate manner.
Making transfers between office & client accounts.
Keeping track of all banking on a daily basis and managing the accounts system.
Dealing with all invoices and ensuring they are paid on time.
Preparation of reconciliations, reports, and ad hoc information as reasonably requested.
Ensuring the efficient operation of the firms PAYE scheme.
Using Case Management Systems and Excel daily (Visual files, SOS, Xero).Desirable Skills
Proven experience managing legal accounts
Appropriate book-keeping qualification (e.g. AAT, IAB, ILFM)
Previous use of case management systems - Visual Files, SOS, SQL, Xero
Understanding of SRA Account Rules
Strong written and verbal communication skills
An eye for detail and a high level of accuracy
Organisational skills with the ability to manage own workload
High standard of IT literacy, especially with Microsoft ExcelContractually it would be 35 hrs per week on a remote basis for 2 - 4 weeks
