Because it is a mobile role you DO NOT have to be located in Desborough as you will travel to our customers.
As Field Service Engineer you will install, service, repair or advise on balers, compactors, conveyors, tippers and similar equipment at customer sites.
At a later stage, you will be responsible for establishing and managing a service desk to oversee the care of the customers with balers, conveyors, compactors, tippers.
Day-to-day activities and responsibilties:
AS FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER and future Service Manager:
* Carry out repairs, modifications, overhauls and preventive maintenance to equipment at customers' premises as and when the need arises.
Advise and re‐train customers on the best use of their compaction and recycling equipment at site so it is as cost‐effective for them as possible.
Promote the replacement of worn parts for best performance of equipment at site and to advice on essential spares being kept by the customer at site.
Behave and promote our brands in such a way that customers see both companies as a reliable and trustworthy partner to use for their equipment supply and care.
Follow the procedures set out in the Quality Assurance Manual, the Quality Procedures and the Working Procedures.
Perform production work (of a "Fitter / Welder" nature or "Electrical Panel Builder /Wiring ") in the factory when not specifically engaged in outwork or outwork‐related tasks.To spend a substantial proportion of the working week away from home. This will necessitate staying away overnight on a moderate basis.
Work with colleagues to set‐up a service desk that provides the best care for its customers and operates as cost‐effectively as possible for the business.
Inspect work under jobholder's control during execution and upon completion to ensure that it is defect‐free before transfer to the next operation.
Maintain generally safe and clean working areas.
Once established, manage service desk
* Suggest continuous improvements across all areas of the role and the business at large.
Prepare the appropriate documentation as required by procedures, for example: Site Work Reports, Certificates of Acceptance, Inspection Sheets and other quality documentation, Time Sheets, Expense Sheets, Machine Surveys, Internal Reports etc.
Ensure that such documentation is self‐explanaton
Valid UK driving license.
