A unique business based on the outskirts of Scarborough is currently recruiting for a Finance Officer to join their team. The successful Finance Officer will receive a salary of up to £26,000 based on experience as well as 28 days holiday and potential study support. There is also the opportunity to learn and develop within the role.

Working closely with the Managing Director, you will be responsible for day to day finance, including bookkeeping and management accounts, as well as full responsibility for the monthly payroll process. Payroll experience is not essential and training will be provided for the successful individual.

Key responsibilities for the Finance Officer will include:

Payroll including RTI, pensions and HMRC reporting
Credit control
General bookkeeping including VAT, bank postings
Bank reconciliation
Sales and purchase invoicing
Payment runs
General finance responsibilities, as directed and required
Ad hoc office duties when neededTo be successful in this Finance Officer opportunity you must:

Have previous experience in a similar finance position
Have knowledge of payroll processes or have a desire to learn this skill
Be able to work on your own initiative, as well as part of a small team
Have knowledge of using accountancy software such as Xero, Sage, Quickbooks, etc. with the capability to be able to learn new systems and processes quickly
Be confident in using Excel or Google Sheets
Be customer-focused and have excellent communication skillsWe would be keen to speak with individuals who are currently in an Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant or Bookkeeper role who are looking for a new challenge. You may already possess payroll knowledge or you may be looking for an opportunity to progress and develop your skill set. This role would also suit an individual who has studied or is currently studying their AAT qualification.

This role is easily commutable via car from Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington and surrounding areas. This role is also commutable via public transport being a few minute's walk away from a nearby train station and bus stops.
