Our Tewkesbury based client is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to administer the day to day processes in the accounts department and to support the strong financial structure within the organisation.
Your main responsibility will be to provide accurate processing within the accounts department and to ensure an efficient and quality service to all stakeholders, whilst effectively dealing with communications by various means.
·Sales Ledger - To undertake daily processing/reconciliation of sales invoicing and payments received.
·Purchase Ledger - weekly processing of purchase invoices and raising purchase orders for authorising
·To support Credit Controller with chasing debts.
·Stock Control including stock takes
·Support Direct Debit processing
·To support the accounting activity of the organisation in an accurate, efficient and effective manner
·To use accounting software for accounting duties and effectively utilise the bespoke database, Microsoft Office software packages including Word, Excel, Outlook to support administrative processes.
·To prioritise tasks to ensure daily/weekly/monthly deadline are met
·Assist with improving and implementing company-wide financial procedures
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE
·Sales and Purchase Ledger experience is essential; also a good grasp of maths and English
·Possessing full or part relevant accounting qualification, AAT level 2/3 or equivalent experience/qualification.
·Develop an understanding of the industry, its stakeholders and the business environment
·Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
·Good knowledge of Sage or accounting software and an ability to learn to use a bespoke database
·People skills and an ability to work both within a team and when required, to carry out individual projects
·Ability to prioritise own workload and to ensure all processing is completed on time to allow production monthly reporting
