Teacher of PE KS4 & KS5 Co-ordinator
We have a great opportunity for an energetic and positive Teacher of PE to join our wonderful Academy. The Chalk Hills Academy are proud of the unrivalled education experience offered. You will certainly benefit from forward-thinking and supportive leadership, an encouraging and enthusiastic staff body and enterprising students. Our academy has state of the art facilities, fit for all your teaching needs. Our facilities include a brand new gym with new equipment from April 2019 which is available for staff to use after school hours and a brand new Sixth Form block opened in September 2019.
Our students respond to PE lessons very positively and enjoy using the full range of resources. All students up to 16 receive two hours of Physical Education a week, in single hour blocks. Alongside these core hours, at key stage four we offer GCSE PE and BTEC PE which we have previously experienced great success in. At key stage five we offer Level 3 Cambridge Technical in sport and physical activity that can either be studied at extended certificate, diploma or extended diploma level. We will be commencing our second year as an established football academy in partnership with Luton Town FC. Overall, physical education is well established and respected within the academy.
We have an excellent fitness suite available for staff and student use, a full size sports hall, dance studio, a full sized 3g Astroturf, outdoor basketball court area and field with a rugby and football pitch in the winter and 200m track and rounders pitches in the summer. Our classrooms are all fitted with interactive whiteboards and the academy has numerous ICT suites and laptop trolleys that can be booked for use in lessons.
The Faculty has high expectations for the achievement of its pupils. We have a 100% Pass rate at Level 2 BTEC and expect our Level 3 CTEC and GCSE PE 9-4 percentage this year to be 100%.
