Goldman Sachs - FX Market Strategist
Your Impact
As a Market Strategist who sits in the Global Markets Division, you will play an integral role on the trading floor and via working directly with institutional clients. You will utilize your knowledge in macro markets, derivative structuring, and statistics to develop unique insights, ideas, and solutions in FX for the firm's clients.
Team Description
The FICC Market Strat team focuses on developing market insights/ideas and structuring with a quantitative approach. This requires leveraging a diverse skillset across Quantitative, Engineering, and Market Disciplines, with the ultimate goal of delivering cutting edge client solutions. You will also structure transactions to meet client needs and work in a close globally connected team centric environment. You will work directly with clients in collaboration with your Sales colleagues. This broad mandate will require you to be an agile entrepreneur in solving complex problems both creatively and quickly.
Role Responsibilities
You will be asked to apply your markets and quantitative skills to develop and enhance trade ideas for clients and the trading desks. You will work and meet directly with clients to help them understand the drivers of markets and structure solutions to meet their needs. Every day you will see the impact of your work as decisions to allocate capital are made in part on the basis of your work. You will be in an entrepreneurial and fast paced environment that empowers and rewards you in developing the ideas that will become the future of our business.

Qualifications
- Strong academic track record in a relevant field (Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or Physics) or equivalent practical experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of currency markets and/or macro financial markets more broadly
- FX Derivative theory and practical derivative structuring knowledge (vanillas, 1st, and 2nd generation exotics)
- Knowledge of at least one programming language and related statistical packages (e.g. Python, R, etc)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both within a global team and individually drive key projects
