Pertemps managed solutions has been engaged by a well known FMCG manufacturer to support with the recruitment of a Strategic Sourcing Manager. The role is an initial 6 month assignment, which may be further extended. It has been created to provide additional support to the regional packaging and specialist buying teams during a period of prolonged supply volatility. You will be involved with the sourcing of 50+ materials across multiple geographies globally.
Making clear and considered decisions on the Sourcing activity needing to be taken
Working with peers in other functions to understand the business need and collaborate on the solution
Working with suppliers to find quick, viable solutions and negotiate pricing/contracts
Identifying and delivering opportunities for savings/ claims
Sourcing of alternative suppliers where supply security is an issueRequirements:
Bachelors degree required; ideally in procurement, economics, supply chain or a related disciplines
Strong sourcing, negotiation and supplier contract experience
Must be able to work with multi-cultural teams in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment.
Must have previous strategic sourcing experience (minimum 2 years) to include sourcing of suppliers, negotiating with suppliers, supplier relationship management, contract negotiation and experience of ERP systems).
Ideally you will have prior experience of working with packaging or raw materials. If not, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to learn in an agile manner.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide change management leadership, be an agile problem solver and stay calm under pressure
