Our background and your main purpose...

W?U makes personal Electric Vehicles (EVs) that look incredible and perform like kings of the road. From humble beginnings in a garage in Nottingham to our new headquarters in Birmingham and factory in Chelmsford, we're a full circle, DTC, innovative UK-based brand that inspires, and kicks ass.

In the face of fierce competition (and in a market ruled by big-name brands) we knew the only way to get our EVs out to people was to go direct. We reverse-engineered a product we knew people would love and have grown a community of loyal customers, singing our praises all over the UK.

But we won't stop there. Because we've now secured the investment to scale up and become an international EV brand. The rubber has hit the road!

And that's where you come in - because we're now focused on building our core team of talent, as we continue our relentless quest to create the hottest electric transportation on the planet, develop EV autopilot and accelerate the global transition to fully-sustainable energy.

We've got big ambitions. We want to grow our revenue to £51m by 2024, invest more in our brand and talent, open a second headquarters in Berlin, and follow that with another HQ in New York.

To help us grow the right way, we engaged eCommerce growth consultancy The Growth Foundation (Gymshark, Ruroc, THG). Their initial review identified several key hires to help us hit these ambitious scale-up targets.

This role you're looking at now is one of them.

This role is career-defining; allowing the right candidate to make their mark, learn while doing and work to propel W?U into a trail-blazing, aspirational global EV Brand.

Reporting to W?U Founders and working closely across all commercial functions, you will be an integral member of the Brand Creative team. Working with the other internal creative heads you will be responsible for the delivery of world-class creative content; across all creative, design, photographic and film briefs, ensuring the end result stays true to the creative vision approved and aligns with the brand guidelines for our different style choices.

Main Accountabilities...
  • Responsible for overseeing the company's interactions with the public by implementing social media platforms' content strategies, creating text and video content, managing posts, and stories, and responding to followers to build and cultivate a powerful online community.
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and using Google Analytics to analyse engagement data, identify trends in customer interactions, and plan digital campaigns to build community online. This includes handling social media presence ensuring a high level of web traffic and customer engagement. Creating a unified voice to represent the company in a cohesive way across all social channels that build brand loyalty.
  • Must be up to date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication skills, copywriting skills and be able to express our company's views creatively.
  • To research current benchmark trends, and audience preferences and to create and implement features to develop brand awareness. Set specific social media objectives and report on ROI.
  • Working with the head of digital and creative teams to communicate the company's brand values through social media platforms. We consider this pivotal to the company's long-term success and will work closely with the founders to ensure the company vision and objectives are delivered upon.
  • Must be able to evidence successful traction from a portfolio of work across different media platforms.
  • A successful Social Media Manager understands how to engage people, leverage, and monitor tools for insights to drive specific social media strategies and align the work with the brand's goals. You must have an eye for social media trends and how to engage the company's followers.
  • Create and maintain the monthly social media calendar across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Coordinate calendar and content with brand teams to execute plans in alignment with global and local objectives/audiences.
  • Create social media plans based around our topics of authority, ensuring all content is engaging and relevant to our customers as well as the platform it's on. Call out key products/trends and make sure socials are always aligned with trade/brand campaign calendars.
  • Drive organic growth and engagement on all of our social channels - Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube. As well as scouting potential channels of opportunity.
  • Be the guardian of technical updates and specs on Social, and share learnings, insights, and best practices with our content team.
