- Manage and oversee all training for the site
- Working alongside the Senior Technical Manager & HR Manager develop and deliver against the agreed training strategy
- Provide advice, guidance and instruction for all training needs
- Review, monitor and record all training to ensure the site meets any audit requirements
- Ensure site compliance with all UK training legislation and licences
- Maintain effective control over the training budget
- Manage and maintain internal training databases and organise timely training as required
- Undertake any other duties or tasks assigned that may be required from time to time aiding in the operation of the business
- Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with line managers
- Create and deliver an effective induction and orientation process for all new starters, returning employees (Maternity, LTS, sabbaticals)
- Monitor and evaluate agency labour inductions, site tours and training requirements
- Monitor and evaluate training program's effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them
- Work alongside the H&S Manager to resolve any specific H&S issues and tailor future training programs as necessary
- Maintain a keen understanding of future training trends, developments and best practice and incorporate into future training strategies
- 2-3 years proven work experience as a training manager
- 2-3 years Food Industry related experience
- Track record in designing and executing successful training programs
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc.)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
- Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals
