Strategic Sourcing Manager (2 roles available)

The role is an initial 6 month assignment, which may be further extended. It has been created to provide additional support to the regional packaging and specialist buying teams during a period of prolonged supply volatility. You will be involved with the sourcing of 50+ materials across multiple geographies globally.
This individual will step in to conduct urgent and critical Sourcing activity where the existing Packaging (including plastics, paper, labels and sundries) and Specialist raw materials (including essential and specialist items) buyers for our Europe and CIS Mars Wrigley factories do not have bandwidth. Likely scenarios include:
Dealing with supply security issues by negotiating with incumbent suppliers and source alternative supply routes.
Reviewing pricing change requests and conducting negotiations
Negotiating amendments and extensions to supplier contracts
Acting as the Sourcing lead on business continuity incidents, to liaise with the supplier and ensure a viable and fast solution is found. This may also include leading the claims process against the supplier.You will need to work closely with the other Strategic Sourcing Managers and other functional teams (including Commercial Operations, Supplier Quality Assurance and Supply).
This role will provide you with a good understanding across a wide breadth of Direct FMCG categories and will act as a good stepping stone for a move into a category specific Strategic Sourcing Manager role at Mars, or a similar company, if that is your future career aspiration.
Making clear and considered decisions on the Sourcing activity needing to be taken
Working with peers in other functions to understand the business need and collaborate on the solution
Working with suppliers to find quick, viable solutions and negotiate pricing/contracts
Identifying and delivering opportunities for savings/ claims
Sourcing of alternative suppliers where supply security is an issueJob Specifications/Qualifications
Education & Professional Qualification
Bachelors degree required; ideally in procurement, economics, supply chain or a related discipline.
Strong sourcing, negotiation and supplier contract experience
Sound interpersonal skills and people leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Good Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel and Powerpoint)Knowledge/Experience
Must be able to work with multi-cultural teams in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment.
Must have previous strategic sourcing experience (minimum 2 years) to include sourcing of suppliers, negotiating with suppliers, supplier relationship management, contract negotiation and experience of ERP systems).
Ideally you will have prior experience of working with packaging or raw materials. If not, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to learn in an agile manner.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide change management leadership, be an agile problem solver and stay calm under pressure.
Must be keen to roll up your sleeves and get involved, despite the ambiguity and complexity of a supply base that you may be unfamiliar with.
