Engineering Manager - BAE Air Systems - 12 Month Contract - Christchurch (Dorset) - £42.67ph PAYE or £56.90ph UMB or £49.93ph Limited Company (Inside IR35)

The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.

Clearance Requirements & Eligibility

This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a Criminal Record Check. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain Security Clearance. In addition, this role involves direct access to ITAR Material. Job Description

We are looking for experienced Engineering Managers who will be responsible for leading a diverse engineering team to sustain existing systems and services, to support innovation ideas and develop new products of the future. You will work closely with our Project Managers and System Designers to deliver our customer commitments on time and on budget. You must have the ability, aptitude and confidence to take full ownership of key engineering plans, processes, reports, budgets and milestones as well as taking on the softer challenges of team management.

Key Responsibility Areas
* Working closely with Project Managers and System Designers to deliver our projects;
* Leadership to a diverse engineering team of up to 15 engineers;
* Scheduling and resource management of all aspects of the project lifecycle;
* Adherence to business processes and governance;
* Facilitate the evolution of innovation ideas;
* Progress reviews, metrics and onward reporting;
* Support to planning and estimating;
* Management of technical risks;

Essential / Desirable skills
Essential Skills:
* Track record of leading the delivery or support of Enterprise, Project, System or Product level solutions and/or services;
* Excellent people and communications skills;
* Familiarity with planning tools (e.g. Microsoft Project);
* Familiarity with budgets, costings and milestones;
* Familiarity with techniques to track progress and reporting metrics;
* Requirements Engineering and Management techniques;
* System Engineering tools and processes;
* Ability to produce technical publications (e.g. Word), diagrams (e.g. Visio), slide packs(e.g. PowerPoint), spreadsheets (e.g. Excel);

Desirable Skills:
* Familiarity of MOD Programmes such as those by Defence Digital or StratCom (e.g. NSoIT, CDIS, MORPHEUS, TRINITY, Interoperability Gateway IOG, NIOBE, FALCON);
* Product safety, certification and legislative standards;
* Recruitment of Personnel;
