Our client is currently looking for a Development Lead to join their Correspondence Team in ALPHA +. You will be a acting as lead technical authority on one or more projects, overseeing technology selections and implementation strategies for Correspondence Solutions. Responsible for ensuring that all Correspondence IT strands of the project are designed and specified in appropriate detail for the design/development team to work from and ensuring the ongoing integrity of the design of the system. Responsible for a team of assigned designers or developers in delivering solutions for the business.
Lead a Correspondence Solution POD in the planning and delivery of correspondence changes to relevant projects within defined release(s)Work with the wider project team, e.g., Project Managers, Technical Architects, Solution Architects, Business Analysts and Enterprise Architects, in the effective delivery of solutions.
Produce estimates in accordance with governance frameworks at each stage in the change process to contribute to budget & resource planning.
Create, amend, and implement software in accordance with requirements, standards, and timescales to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
Oversee testing of code and design to ensure it meets functional and non-functional requirements.
Identify and manage stakeholders to gain their buy-in to a proposed solution in line with the agreed scope and timelines of the proposal.
Provide technical consultancy on and take technical ownership of correspondence software changes acting as the point of contact / escalation / technical guidance.
Provide leadership by coaching, supporting, and developing less experienced colleagues to deliver quality outcomes.
Engender a collaborative, efficient and supportive environment among the teams in which you work to maximise team performance and engagement.
Undertake reviews of specific pieces of work with colleagues as required, to ensure that the system design and documentation follows best practice (i.e. ISPA).
Monitor quality and productivity metrics for team performance, help target where improvements need to be made and demonstrate those improvements that have been made.
Balancing complex and important priorities in line with changing deadlines to deliver a quality solution.
A senior member of the Correspondence Team, thereby contributing to the effective running of the function, providing support and cover for other POD Leads colleagues, and ensuring it continues to deliver value to the business
Being able to adapt to the requirements of different types of work which can be complex and non-routine.
1+ years' experience of technical leadership in a team
Experience developing OpenText / Messagepoint
Experience of development methodologies.
Experienced in working within a risk control framework and contributing to successful risk outcomes
Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to upward manage communications and status
Excellent task/delivery management with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in parallel, ensuring prioritisation on the most important/urgent topics
Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation, with developers at a technical level and with the business in plain English
Excellent team management and development, mentoring, objective setting
Ability to make effective decisions and give direction under pressure
Design and development knowledge of core components of the correspondence solutions
Experienced in solution estimating
