Robertson Bell are partnering with this excellent charity that works around the UK, on their search for an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join their team in the West of England on a permanent basis. Based in Birmingham, this role will play a crucial part in assisting the wider team in offering support and advice to an allocated portfolio, ensuring that effective decision making, and financial controls are in place.

The key duties of this Assistant Finance Business Partner are as follows:
  • Provide comprehensive support and guidance to budget holders, assisting them in preparing budgets and forecasting.
  • To maintain an oversight of the budgets, providing analysis on spending, and feeding this back to budget holders.
  • Provide support to the wider team when dealing with larger budgets, assisting those budget holders on the provision of their funds.
  • Complete month end reporting duties, including journals and variance analysis, providing commentary once this has closed.

This role would be the perfect opportunity for someone who has a background in producing management accounts, offering suggestions and improvements for the future, supporting budget holders who are non-finance professionals, whilst business partnering with the wider organisation. Although this role is officially based out of the organisation's offices in Birmingham city centre, extremely flexible working arrangements are on offer.

The successful candidate will have:
  • At least assisted on the production of monthly management accounts pack.
  • Assisted in budget setting, including forecasting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial information for non-finance professionals.
  • Been working towards becoming a fully qualified accountant, at a part qualified level.
  • An empathetic approach.
