Quality Assurance Lead / Manager
Location: Sussex ( Hybrid working pattern )
Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 ( depending on experience )
Due to continued success this global Defence Aerospace business are seeking a Quality Assurance Lead / Manager to take responsibility for development , implementation , leadership & measurement of Quality Assurance plans to ensure excellence is achieved across the businesses portfolio of highly complex electro-mechanical airborne systems
Role of Quality Assurance Lead / Manager
Developing , implementing , and managing QA for the Product Group for design & manufacture of mechanical , electrical , and electro-mechanical systems & associated documentation
Facilitating the implementation of standards , methods and procedures for ensuring quality of products & documentation
Lead the preparation and execution of internal audits for the Product Group within established design , manufacturing, and production process controls to ensure compliance with internal and external specifications , requirements and standards
Liaises with the teams , auditing groups and inspectors to develop formal written reports , and where required recommend corrective actions
Identify trends in discrepancies and collaborates with process owners on the refinement and optimisation of business processes.
Participate in identifying root cause for discrepancies and nonconformities to develop disposition and recommend corrective action plans
Lead material review board and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis ( PFMEA ) activities
Interfacing with manufacturing , engineering , customer , vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met and conducting program quality cost account management
Ensuring internal , customer , regulatory and 3rd party requirements are defined , measured , and continuously improved
Drive early cross-functional engagement initiatives to ensure quality throughout all phases of the product lifecycle and associated processes , including project execution through review of proposals & completion of gate reviews
Skills required for Quality Assurance Lead / Manager
Senior level experience with strong knowledge of quality assurance project management
Experience managing Supplier Quality Assurance , Quality Engineering and Quality Control personnel within a matrix management environment
Substantial experience in a high complexity design , engineering & manufacturing environment , preferably in the aerospace / defence industry
Experience working in an ISO9001 / AS9100 environment
Previous experience in leading solutions for product realisation including for example AS9145 , driving APQP , PPAP , customer interaction , supplier interaction , VAVE support , supplier development , approval and cost improvements would be beneficial
Note: The successful candidate will need to either hold SC level Security Clearance or be eligable to gain SC level Security Clearance
