My client is looking for a Compliance Manager to join a leading UK property developer, residential lettings and property management business.

Job Title: Corporate Compliance ManagerLocation: Hybrid, Office located in Manchester City Centre with some travel across the UKSalary: Circa £45k

  • Establish strategies, policies and procedures to make sure the business is compliant with corporate and industry regulations, legislation and best practice
  • Ensure all departments of the business are complying with the rules, regulations and values that the company upholds
  • Oversee compliance across all departments from Lettings, Property Management and Building Management through to HR, Finance and Commercial teams
  • Monitor, report and audit compliance levels of the business, providing reports to the Board on measures in place, issues identified and taking actions to improve processes where necessary
  • Work closely with the Head of each department regarding compliance matters and provide advice, instruction, guidance and support
  • Create and maintain a compliance framework, plan and methodology in a way that is commercially minded and values focused
  • Create, maintain and implement policies and procedures at a corporate level, including GDPR
  • Inspire and lead a culture of compliance across the business, driving a commercial compliant mindset and sharing best practices
  • Maintain records of compliance practices and file documentation with relevant bodies
  • Protect the interests of the business and investors by providing legal guidance, corporate governance and advice on compliance matters to the Board and the Management team
  • Create and enforce plans of action related to ethical and legal behaviour within the company; Identify where issues are taking place, and fix them quickly and effectively
  • Keep up to date with the changing laws that affect the company and its practices, report on these laws and how the company is following them

Knowledge, skills and experience
  • Experience in residential lettings and property management
  • Experience in regulated environments/compliance role
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross functionally
  • A sound commercial outlook
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Time management
  • Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality
