Deloitte is looking to recruit an outstanding individual to become a pivotal part of our Central Audit Business Support function within our Cardiff Delivery Centre.

This is an opportunity to join a new and dynamic team, critical for the delivery of fast-paced business support to Central Audit. This is an opportunity for you to join our team in a leadership role.

You will assist in the delivery of Central Audit Business Support strategies through coordinating and managing areas of our internal operations and work with the management team to achieve business objectives, ensuring these fit in with the values of the wider firm. You will have oversight of a team of Associates and Senior Associates. We foster a culture of continuous development; you will take ownership of the performance and development of the members within your team through motivating and encouraging them to create a strategic impact.

Your role

The role will be responsible for oversight of the Central Audit Business Support Services team. The team provides vital support to our Central Audit business functions, including our Transformation & Change, Learning & Development, Clients & Industries, Resource Management, Delivery Centres and Centres of Excellence teams.

As a key member of the Central Audit team, you will have responsibility for coordinating the delivery of a varied and comprehensive range of business support and administrative tasks to internal clients. In addition to providing oversight of the junior members of the team, the successful applicant for this role will have the opportunity to directly contribute and lead aspects of operations and projects within the Central Audit teams.

Responsibilities of the Central Audit Business Support Team include:
  • Updating internal systems with up-to-date client, financial and project information
  • Supporting projects from inception through to completion through a variety of service delivery activities
  • Providing financial support for certain projects covering a variety of tasks
  • Proactively seeking out improvements to existing processes utilising technology and tools
  • Continually working on improvements and efficiencies to ensure processes are optimised
  • Gain a strong understanding of Central Audit and Deloitte processes and policies
  • Working effectively in diverse teams across multiple locations and diverse cultures
  • Supporting meeting materials, coordinating schedules, organising logistics and diary invites
  • Producing reporting documents using Microsoft Office tools
  • Establishing a rapport with Central Audit teams
  • Cover during periods of holiday and sickness
  • Ad hoc projects/tasks
  • Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution

People Leadership
  • Responsible for the performance and development of the team including holding 121s, coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing
  • Empowering experienced senior associates to lead more junior team members
  • Oversight and management of team's workload, capacity, overtime and annual leave
  • Managing and monitoring team's absence in line with Deloitte policy
  • Managing teams HR issues in line with Deloitte policy
  • Supporting team's wellbeing using tools and resources in the firm
  • Provide escalation point for Central Audit functional teams related to Business Support activities
  • Supporting recruitment of new team members in candidate selection events
  • Managing diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution

Location: Cardiff

Your professional experience
  • Experience of working within a finance or project support role preferred
  • Strong organisational skills including the ability to prioritise your workload
  • Able to work to tight deadlines whilst managing stakeholder expectations
  • Excellent attention to detail and adherence to project deadlines
  • Attention to detail and the personal motivation to perform to the highest standards
  • Able to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationship at al levels
  • Strong team player, embracing collaborative working approach with own team member and with Central Audit colleagues across varied locations
  • Highly organised and analytical, with an eye for detail and good with numbers
  • Professional and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work well under pressure and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Able to use own initiative, be proactive and able to identify appropriate solutions to problems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
