Adecco Chester are proudly recruiting for an Accountant specialising in Personal Tax to join a welcoming and supportive practice in Wrexham.

The successful candidate will be ideally qualified to AAT Level 4, part ACA qualified, or equivalent. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountancy professional with previous experience of completing self-assessment tax returns / sole trader accounts that is looking for the next step in their Accountancy career.

The successful candidate will work with a small friendly team and the role is office-based although there is the ability to work from home on occasion where required. This role is full-time and permanent.

Salary: up to £26,000 p/a

Working Hours: 8.30am - 5.30pm with an hour for lunch

Location: Wrexham

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete and review self-assessed tax returns on behalf of clients
  • Complete and review sole trader accounts
  • Provide outstanding service and tailored advice to a national client base via call, email and occasionally in-person
  • Liaise with departmental peers, senior partners and HMRC where necessary
  • Submit new tax registration and deregistration to HMRC
  • Assist with the preparation of financial documents on behalf of clients, such as P60s and P11Ds, Year End statements
  • Use of reporting software to compile and update client data
  • Ad-hoc supportive duties and support cross-department within practice when necessary

Key Skills:
  • Knowledge of personal tax, self-assessment and HMRC requirements
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Sound IT skills including Microsoft Office package
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Professional and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to adapt to change in a small business environment
  • Ideally qualified to AAT Level 4, part ACA qualified, or equivalent
