Role Overview

The Project Manager acts across all areas of the site, managing both new installations and enhancements to existing equipment. The postholder will lead as well as participate in multi-disciplinary teams.

They will be responsible for all aspects of the projects from technical specification, FAT, training, budgeting and contractor management through to project handover and will use project management tools and documents such as URS, Gantt Charts, and RACI.

The Project Manager position is an all-encompassing role. The post holder will need to be ultrapractical and be able to manage every element of their project. It will require someone who is as happy in the factory environment as they are in the office. A collaborative approach is essential alongside a can-do attitude with no element of the project management process being outside of the post-holder's remit.


Project Design
  • Leads and/or takes a participative proactive approach when defining project scopes, benefits, objectives, cost estimate, schedule and business case.
  • Effectively partners all Stakeholders' and Project Team members to understand requirements as well as make informed recommendations
  • Responsible for agreeing the non-engineering project responsibilities with the Project Sponsor/ Project Business Lead
  • Ensures that Safety, Health, Environment, GMP and Quality design principles and implementation practices are robustly embedded in the project.

  • Responsible for co-ordination, scheduling and reporting of activities related to stakeholder management, benefits management, business change management and project communications as agreed with the Project Business Lead and/or Sponsor.
  • Fosters good team working, develops team members, manages conflict and implements escalation routes for issue resolution
  • Organises and chairs project meetings and ensures all other necessary specialist meetings are held as required.
  • Liaises with the Equipment Manufacturer or Construction Representative to track and monitor their activity against the project schedule and financial forecasts

  • When relevant is responsible for the management of the Project Implementation Team, including the internal recruitment of the appropriate team members, through discussion with the Senior Project Manager and Project Sponsor/Project Business Lead.
  • Ensures a collaborative working relationship with Procurement Team for contract strategy and to ensure the right selection of contractors and suppliers.
  • Technical knowledge allows the co-ordination of contractors and suppliers activity. Ensures that the execution of the project is in accordance with the contract and any relevant technical specifications
  • Responsible for the day-to-day preparation, management and deliverable completion of the engineering aspects of the project.
  • Ensures that design, fabrication and installation complies with the relevant Coty Design Guides, local engineering practices and project deliverables through robust concept and detailed design activities & reviews.
  • Management of project budgets including monitoring cost expenditure against estimates and report cost position to Senior Project Manager on a regular basis
  • Maintains a leading approach ensuring excellence in the progression of a project reporting back to Senior Project Manager and/or Project Sponsor
  • Responsible for managing and preparing the validation success criteria, ensuring a detailed programme for the validation execution
  • Lead the execution of the validation exercises, prepare snagging lists and meet acceptance requirements for the handover plan
  • Comply with global and local asset management procedures such as making related amendments to the asset register for new, relocated or scrapped assets

  • Report and investigate work-related hazards, incidents and near misses.
  • Complete all required health and safety training.
  • Other health and safety duties as required from time to time.
