Financial Accountant
Location - Swindon
(Hybrid can be considered)
Pay Rate - Between £22-25ph
Duration - 6 months initially - Chance to extend

Job purpose
Guidant Global are searching for a financial accountant for a prestigious client based in Swindon.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role is to help support the finance function and undertake improvement projects and support key stakeholders around the business.
The Organisation
The organisations Fuel Cells division is a customer focussed, global business dedicated to the supply of high-performance fuel cell catalysts and components. The business, which is headquartered in Swindon, is a leader in its chosen markets with rapidly growing sales supported by its extensive R&D and manufacturing capabilities.
The Fuel Cells business employs approximately 300 permanent employees and 100 agency workers, primarily at Swindon and at the Technology Centre in Sonning Common, with manufacturing in Swindon and Shanghai and sales representatives in the UK, USA, Korea, China and Japan.
This role is key to supporting the month end closing and assisting with various accounting queries around the business.
Principal accountability's
Support for the period end accounting, including preparation of various reconciliations and journal postings.
Assist in reviewing and investigating P&L and balance sheet balances and providing variance analysis as appropriate
Population of Financial Schedules with actual and forecast data through to submission of financial reports.
Support the management accountant in the production of monthly accounts
Assist in completing half year and year end disclosure schedules
Partner with various stakeholders within finance and other parts of the business (including internationally), perform cost centre analysis and update templates.
Support Funded Programs administration including monthly reconciliations and quarterly audits.
Ensure customs duty account is up to date and fully reconciled.
Work closely with the Technology team on various new product investment appraisals and provide accounting support when required.
Maintain up to date documentation about procedures and controls within Month End management accounts folder and any other relevant tasks or processes.
To carry out any other duties which are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
Qualifications/ knowledge/ experience
(Technical/ professional knowledge and skills competency)
ACCA Qualified or equivalent
Desirable
Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial management processes
Essential
Competent in Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables, Look-ups and a range of formulae
Essential
Able to demonstrate a good knowledge of SAP

Experience in manufacturing industry & fast paced change environment
