An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Audit and Business Development Officer on behalf of a public sector organisation based in East London.

This is an exciting opportunity and a key one within the organisation to support their 10 Markets and the future supporting their recently launched 5-year Markets Action Plan. The role will be located at their Markets Office based in Spitalfields, however the team are currently working in a hybrid way.

The role will be primarily focused on making improvement to the organisation's markets. The role will take responsibility for a number of already funded projects, some infrastructure based and others to support traders and bring new traders to the organisation's markets. There is also the opportunity to seek further funding for new and additional projects.

The successful applicant will have project management experience, and experience of project managing successful regeneration schemes or other relevant regeneration initiatives.

Key duties will include:

Research, develop and implement projects and initiatives for street markets regeneration initiatives, and to realise the objectives of the street markets strategy
Act as an ambassador for the street markets service, assisting and giving advice to new traders and business start-ups and aiding their progress in promoting their business
Engage with and develop effective partnership relationships with community and business stakeholders in the street markets, to establish and review effective day to day and long-term regeneration and management strategies
Ensure that fit-for-purpose audit monitoring systems are designed, implemented and acted on including the monitoring of subletting and subsequent enforcement action
Carry out sporadic and programmed audit inspections on street markets, ensuring licence conditions compliance and subletting is identified and recorded
Gather information and intelligence that may be used in Court as evidence
