A well established Utilities company are embarking on an ambitious enterprise wide Smart Metering Transformation programme and are in the process of creating a centralised Transformation team. As a consequence of this growth they are looking for a Project Manager to join the Smart Metering transformation team for a period of 12 months, inside of scope of IR35.

The project will be split into two key phases:

Phase 1 - Design, blue print and mobilisation
Phase 2 - Delivery and Testing

As a project manager you will play a pivotal role in the above project milestones and you role will be to:

Ensure delivery of the data migration, integrations and supporting WFM, Billing and Finance
Working with the SI to ensure that Phase 1 is delivered ensuring that any milestones, sprints, risks and issues are managed accordingly
Being the focal point of the project and being the conduit between the technical teams and operationsl teams
This role would very much suit a project manager who has supported the delivery of a Smart Metering programme and has an appreciation of the operational implications of delivering a programme of this nature and how it impacts customer services, finance, billing and field teams. This is not just about delivering technical design but also about having an appreciation of the operational and business readiness implications of a project of this nature.

This role would suit an individual who has the following experience:

Delivery of Smart Metering Operational projects whether that is in Water or Utilities
Agile delivery - used to working in a sprint, stand-up, iterative delivery environment
Strong appreciation of operational challenges and dealing with operational stakeholders when delivering smart metering projects i.e Contact Centres, Billing, Workforce Management and FinanceDue to the criticality of the project there will be a requirement to be present onsite 2 days a week in the North East to support the critical delivery milestones across Phase 1 and Phase 2 and there will be an opportunity to claim expenses for any extended period of time spent onsite alongside your day rate.
