At Smile Education we are currently on the search for dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant in Moseley Birmingham who want to make a positive impact and support children and young people with Special Educational Needs.

Smile Education is currently working alongside a provision that caters to children and young people aged 3 -19 with a range of severe and complex needs.

This part time role will require you to work 09:30am - 12pm (mornings only) 5 days per week, you may be considered for full days if you prefer.

The school consists of small classes, where you will work 2:1 with children in KS1 and provide individual learning opportunities. This role would be perfect for a Teaching Assistant with previous experience working with complex needs. This role will require you to work with students who are no longer in mainstream education.

About the role:

This part time role will require you to work 09:30am - 12pm (mornings only) 5 days per week,

You will be supporting children in KS1 and delivering extra support to young people, whilst supported by the teacher.
Supporting students with severe and complex needs.
You will be supporting teachers in managing complex pupil behaviour.
You will be working to provide tailored activities that cater to needs of the child
You will use your kind and caring nature to provide a safe space for young people to grow and develop
Supporting the class teacher by following daily session plans to enable the students to get the best quality education
You will work closely with the SENCO and other multi agencies to ensure the child is receiving the correct level of support

The SENCO works alongside outside agencies to allow each child to receive the level of support required

The Provision adapts the curriculum to suit each child and follows its own learning strategies to ensure children are developing
You will be able to use your knowledge and experience to provide enriching activities suitable for children with individual needs.

About You:

You have a genuine desire to want to work with young people with complex needs and to make a difference to their lives
You hold a relevant qualification and have 6 months of experience working with young people with SEN
You have a caring and kind nature and resilient attitude to supporting the students in your care.
You are committed to safeguarding children and are willing to undertake training if necessary to further your safeguarding knowledge.

You can demonstrate drive passion and can motivate children in and outside of the classroom.
You are confident working with children with complex needs
You will be supported by an experienced SEN teacher and support staff
