This is a great opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join the Finance Shared Service Team at one of the UK's leading companies. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager you will support the timely and accurate financial reporting with particular emphasis on the balance sheet and ensuring that robust procedures and controls are in place.

* Hybrid role

* Location: Nottingham

* Duration 3 to 4 Months

* Salary £45,000 to £50,000 pro rata


As Financial Accountant key responsibilities will include:

* Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations including sub-ledger to GL reconciliations

* Ensure supporting evidence of balances and timely clearance of reconciling items

* Processing of finance transactions including accruals and prepayments

* Adherence to Group accounting timetable to meet reporting deadlines

* Inter-company transactions processing and agree monthly settlement of inter-company balances

* Maintain fixed asset register and capital expenditure tracking

* Support year-end reporting including assisting external audit for Group Reporting & Statutory Audit

* Assist with Annual Tax pack information for Group Tax, resolving queries in an accurate and timely manner.

* Submit weekly cash collection figures and analysis of bank balances

* VAT returns

* Support divisional finance with P&L reports, budget & forecast information

* Identifying process improvement opportunities to drive efficiency within the business

To be successful in the role of Financial Accountant you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

* CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent qualification

* High level of numeracy and IT literate (Excel/PowerPoint).

* Prior experience in a similar role and can demonstrate solid technical accounting ability

* Excellent written and oral communication skills.

* Team player with the ability to also work on own initiative

* Strong organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines

* Experience of working in a Shared Services environment (advantageous not essential)

* Strong process and financial control discipline
