We are currently recruiting for a Production Manager for our client in Stockport on a permanent basis. This will be working a 37 hour week paying up to £50,000 per annum.

The Production Manager provides a vital role within our client by specifically driving change and delivering continuous improvement. You will be ensuring the accurate and timely manufacturing of all customer orders to specification. You will be leading a team that manufactures bespoke aerospace components through a variety of processes including handmade manufacture, automation and CNC methods.

Typical duties may include;

Developing, executing and monitoring all production plans
Ensure accurate capacity planning and recovery plans are in place and effective
Work package management - including budgets, labour hours, O/T
Drive all production activities in order to maintain quality and delivery milestones
Manpower management including HR and training needs as they arise
Chair internal reviews with functions outside of our core department to ensure delivery of services and parts driven by the demand controlled in SAP from project and schedule requirements
Implement robust containment and prevention activities
Ensure on time delivery of 8D reports/NCR's to quality
Provide regular reports as required for own function
Ensure compliance to EHS requirements, regular H&S audits and 5S reviews
Manage the maintenance team and planned/unplanned repairs
Support and engage team members to achieve zero defect and zero accidents
Actively support and contribute to continuous improvement program and lean manufacturing
Train and support team members as required to deliver operational requirements

In order to be successful you will need to have strong managerial experienced in a highly regulated and bespoke manufacturing environment, ideally from an aerospace background. You will also be a time served machinist and be able to demonstrate those skills and knowledge as required. You will need strong knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and be highly IT literate.
