In summary, we:
+ Run the award-winning Supply Chain Sustainability School, including the industry-leading Fairness, Inclusion & Respect (FIR) programme.
+ Support clients to use our Sustainability Tool, as well as topic-specific iterations such as the carbon calculator, to report their progress on sustainability actions.
+ Led the authoring of the ISO 20400 in sustainable procurement and are now leading global adoption through our social enterprise arm, and our commercial consultancy services.
+ Provide bespoke, specialist business advice, training, and practical tools to leading organisations such as Siemens, the Houses of Parliament, Warwick University, the NHS and British Land.
The Senior Sales Development Exec Role:
Our Sustainability SaaS Tool helps our clients to efficiently collect sustainability data from their business divisions, projects and supply chains, to produce dashboards of key performance indicators. By using our platform, organisations can now ensure their teams and supply chain partners comply with their environmental and socio-economic standards. This is driving transparency and accountability to better deliver on sustainability strategies.
We are looking for a Senior Sales Development Exec to generate leads and close deals for the Tool to enable more clients to improve the sustainability performance in their supply chain, built environment projects and assets under management.
The candidate will be required to identify new market opportunities and have a passion for sustainability and making a difference.
+ Identify and close sales/project opportunities for the Sustainability Tool.
+ Deliver presentations and software product demonstrations to a Director level audience.
+ Work with the marketing team to create sales collateral and build campaigns to generate new leads.
+ Input into the design and development of strategic business development strategies.
+ Keep up to date on the latest sustainability news/products and thinking in the construction sector.
+ Grow your sustainability knowledge and experience through the projects you undertake alongside suitable and relevant training.
+ SaaS sales experience is highly desired with demonstrable personal success in a consultative selling environment – preferably in sustainability and/or the construction industry.
+ A professional, team/relationship-oriented approach to winning business and developing successful, long-term client relationships and engagements.
+ Active, hands-on approach with clients
+ Able to support colleagues wherever possible to close opportunities as necessary.
+ Proactive approach to cold-calling. Able to devise and follow a strategy to build pipeline through a systematic approach to cold calling.
+ Willingness to learn and develop technical skills and knowledge in line with the broad portfolio of work and a genuine interest and passion for sustainability.
+ Evidence of establishing and maintaining a strong network of clients. A contact base at executive level across relevant construction companies would be highly valued.
+ Travel where necessary to meet with clients, or assist with colleagues clients, face to face.
+ Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 + 5% commission (OTE £40,000 – £50,000)
+ Holidays: 25 days plus 8 statutory holidays plus 1 day for birthday
+ Other benefits: 8% employer contribution to pension
