Technical Support Engineer


We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Engineer to join a well-established consultancy at their office in Chippenham. The primary goal of the Technical Support Engineer is to provide 1st & 2nd line support to software users, as well as assisting customers subscribing to the client's managed service function.

The successful Technical Support Engineer will assist with the completion of software upgrades, support Ingres and SQL RDBMS, and support various operating systems, such as Unix, Linux & Windows. The Technical Support Engineer will also liaise with developers and other internal teams to highlight and resolve issues within the applications

Skills and experience required for the Technical Support Engineer:

  • Previous experience in a customer-focused application support role.
  • Experience of supporting operating systems (Windows/Unix/Linux).
  • Experience of DBMS administration - knowledge of Ingres/SQL Server is advantageous.
  • Be able to workout of hours for scheduled evening & weekend work.
