The Internal Auditor Role

As Internal Auditor you will provide independent assurance to the Board on the effectiveness of operational controls in place across the company. You will establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the company and will be responsible for effectively communicating at all stages of the Internal Audit process, ensuring all expectations are set.

Key responsibilities:

Working with the Internal Audit Team and applicable stakeholder/s, conduct audits in accordance with the Annual Plan.

Produce clear and concise reports following the completion of an Internal Audit.

Pro-actively communicate with all Stakeholders during the audit process.

Follow up progress on agreed actions following completion of audits.

Support the production of Audit Committee packs.

Provide input into the Annual Planning process.

Keep up-to-date with Internal Audit practices and regulation/legislation applicable to the company.

Positively promote the Internal Audit function during your day-to-day work.

Act in accordance with the IIA's IPPF and Code of Conduct at all times.

Key skills and experience required:

Previous experience of Internal Audit or experience of reviewing and analysing operational processes and controls is essential

Candidates must have a minimum Grade C or above at GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English

Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workloads

Proactive and able to use own initiative

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent attention to detail

Analytical mind-set

Strong IT skills, in particular Microsoft Word and Excel

CIA qualification would be advantageous

Experience of working in the Financial Services Industry would be beneficial

Working knowledge of regulation and legislation applicable to Financial Services would be beneficial

Hours of work: 37.5 per week between 8am and 6pm, Monday - Friday

Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays
