Python Developer - Team Lead

Python, Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, Sciit-learn, Market Risk, TDD, BDD

My client a leading financial derivatives trader are looking to speak to Python Developers interested in taking up a leadership position in Python, within their Market Risk team.

This will involve working on the company's Market Risk desk. You will be responsible for managing a small team of 3-5 developers and create the architecture of their new risk framework. You must be able to bridge the business to your IT team and communicate effectively to senior stakeholders. The company are advancing their technologies globally, and require top-tier developers to help build these for deployment across the business.

You will maintain a hands-on approach. Therefore, you need to come from a rich Python development background, and have worked on various frameworks e.g. Flask and Django. You should also be very experienced in developing applications. You must also have knowledge of data analysis libraries e.g. Pandas, Scipy, Numpy, Scikit-learnt etc

Key responsibilities:

  • Push the team towards production goals and oversee the overall SDLC cycle
  • Conduct design and code reviews
  • Working with SCRUM methodology
  • Test applications including TDD, BDD and Unit Testing
  • Ensure team comply with project methodology and policies
  • Incorporate team and architectural standards into designs
  • You will be working on a Greenfield project, helping to develop the Market Risk Framework in Python

Key Responsibilities:

  • A minimum of 7 years total development experience. 5 years of this must be in Python
  • Knowledge of the NoSQL database
  • Have been a team lead for 1+ year as a minimum
  • Familiar with SCRUM methodology
