Contract R&D Prototype Engineer

The Redline Group are working on behalf of our client to secure the services of an experienced Contract R&D Prototype Engineer, to work at their Scotland office.

This role has an indicative OUTSIDE IR35 determination therefore we can accept candidates who would like to operate through their own PSC

Our client have a fantastic reputation in the market for innovative designs that cover a range of industries, including medical, industrial and consumer electronics. Their products are designed in the UK and distributed worldwide.
As a result of significant investment and planned growth this year, they are looking for a range of professional Contractors.

The Contract R&D Prototype Engineer will be involved in a range of tasks as products are taken through the life cycle through to the prototype stage; this will include but is not limited to:
-Assist in the conceptual development of products from client definition - not from a design perspective but more from a build and develop focus
-Completing testing and validation activities, including test plans
-Bill of material (BOM) management
-Selecting components, managing part obsolescence

Key Skills Required - Contract R&D Prototype Engineer, Scotland:
-Proven experience in the design life cycle process, from concept through to prototype
-Experience of industry standards such as ISO13485
-Managing component selection, experience in working through part obsolescence issues
-Testing and validation experience
