Finance Manager - Tech Start Up - Central London

A newly created Finance Manager position has opened up in an exciting Technology start up based in Central London. This Finance Manager role will be responsible for the day to day running of the finance function including producing monthly management accounts as well as year end, managing the Treasury function as well as acting as the key contact for all things Finance.

The company is a fast-growing start-up/scale-up business looking to expand their Finance team over the next 12 months. The role would suit a candidate with a background in Finance looking for a step up which allows full exposure, the chance to manage/supervise junior staff members and progress upwards as the company grows.

The company are currently working 5 days in the offices, this is preferred but may offer some flexibility if needed.

Key responsibilities:
  • Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts, board packs (work with current accountants)
  • Produce year-end accounts and act as a point of contact for external accountants; manage related tax filings
  • Cash flow modelling, business forecasting
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls to improve performance, profitability, and governance
  • Manage client contracts, invoicing, and receivables collections (in collaboration with Sales and Account Management colleagues)
  • Manage treasury function, including bookkeeping/cash reconciliations
  • Supervise and make monthly payroll, pension, and supplier payments
  • Manage HMRC and other regulatory filing requirements
  • Manage quarterly VAT Returns
  • Organise / submit usage reports to 3rd party data providers
  • Work closely with other project such R&D credits and other ad-hoc projects
  • Some experience in data analysis and reporting with strong excel or third party data analytics skills for SaaS metric reporting

Key skills:
  • Previous experience working in a busy Finance environment
  • Hands on work approach, happy to get stuck in
  • A Finance qualification (ACCA/CIMA) is desirable
  • Experience working in Software-as-a-Service (SAAS) would be a advantage
  • Experience overseeing finance operations from global/remote perspective
  • Multi-facet to assist both admin tasks to also more technical strategy finance
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to confidently lead from the front
  • Highly organised and ability to work in pressurised environments
