Assistant Accountant
We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to:
To ensure key control accounts are reconciled in line with month end deadlines and in compliance with relevant rules and regulation.
To produce accurate and meaningful reports for key stakeholders.
To support the department in the development of internal controls and improvements to the business processes.
Reporting to the Finance Manager this role is ideal for someone who has excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
What is the purpose of the role?
Accountabilities
Maintain and review key control accounts, working with departments to identify and correct discrepancies
Produce monthly financial reports for management, key stakeholders and National Statistics Office
Control the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals and depreciation
Carry out quarterly and yearly fixed asset checks
Support and where necessary cover the duties of team members including bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasts and foreign currency requirements
Support purchase ledger at peak times in processing purchase ledger invoices, payments and expense claims
Support the department with the audit process.
Undertake other ad-hoc duties as required to ensure the efficient running of the department.
What skills and behaviours are we looking for?
AAT Level 4
Computer literate in Microsoft Excel (minimum of pivot tables and VLOOKUPS)
Ability to work alone and within a team to meet deadlines
Ability to reconcile large volumes of data to produce meaningful information.
Good analytical skills with high attention to detail
Ability to communicate at all levels and develop working relationships
Proactive, organised and self-motivated
Flexible outlook to working hours when required (month end process)
