Job Purpose / Overview

Sizewell C have a new opportunity available for an experienced Quality Management Lead (QML) to be a part of our SZC Project divided across delivery programmes. Each delivery programme specifies their quality requirements which in turn are delivered by a team of QMLs to a Quality Delivery Manager (QDM). You will form part of the Quality delivery team and provide quality related services and support to the Project Manager (PM) and be responsible for acting as the 'Intelligent Customer' in the capacity of ensuring that appropriate quality arrangements are in place and effectively implemented by the supply chain in these programmes.

The primary role of the QML is to oversee the quality assurance and control activities performed in the delivery programme. You will ensure projects and their suppliers apply and adhere to the appropriate processes and procedures when delivering to the quality requirements set out by the respective programmes. This is a challenging and rewarding role where you will work in close collaboration with the respective PM and QDM, project teams, contracted inspection agencies, supply chain partners, as well as internal and external regulators.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

* Performing an appropriate level of oversight and assurance that quality is delivered by the supply chain and multi-disciplinary team (MDT).

* Establishing and maintaining good relations with the supply chain partners, the other directorates in the SZC project and other supporting entities including inspection agencies.

* Ensure products/services are provided right first time and you will be required to arbitrate and support timely resolution of quality issues.

* Work in close collaboration with the PM and QDM to deliver goods and services 'right first time' and ensure learning environment for all programmes to ensure a consistent approach to quality across all the programmes.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Knowledge & Skills


* Strong interpersonal skills. Able to engage credibly within and external to the business.

* Solid understanding of the Quality Assurance and Control requirements in major projects across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning.

* Proven track record on influencing and negotiating in technical and non-technical discussions.

* Knowledge & understanding of the nuclear sector, ideally new build.

* Ability to work autonomously and support the Quality Delivery Manager and Project Manager as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

* Ability to present quality matters and solutions to a wide-ranging audience.

* Expert knowledge of Quality Systems, ISO 9001, ISO 19443, IAEA GSR-2 and interrelated standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, ISO 44001 etc..

* A strong and credible decision maker, able to create confidence through crafting of strong justifications and arguments.

Qualifications & Experience


* Degree qualified in an engineering or science related discipline or equivalent

* Experience within the UK regulatory environment

* Nuclear industry, PWR design and new-build experience preferred

* Extensive experience working with supply chains

* IRCA Lead Auditor


* Experience and technical knowledge of nuclear safety design and quality management

* Experience of working with Regulators within a dynamic environment.

* Large-scale infrastructure Project experience

* Experience in supervising & managing teams/contract support

* Chartered Quality Professional or working towards membership of the Chartered Quality Institute

* Fluent in the French language
