Buyer - FTC 6 Months Initially

Are you an experienced Buyer and looking for a new full time permanent position?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity with our client who are successful manufacturing company based in Basildon.

Thanks to a continuing demand in business, our client is recruiting for an experienced Buyer to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external design teams

Key Responsibilities:-
  • Responsible for the purchasing of all projects related materials by allocated projects
  • To ensure a high level of detail is provided on purchase orders raised after quotation and agreement of cost, quality, time frame and mitigating factors against established policies and procedures
  • To purchase materials through our preferred supplier list in accordance with established purchasing policies and procedures as and when required
  • As soon as confirmation / acknowledgement is received it should be checked against P/O raised and discrepancies flagged and dealt with immediately
  • Ensuring delivery dates for purchase orders are tied in with programmed project dates
  • The additional responsibility of negotiation in situations wherever possible, in order to obtain the cost efficient and operational purchases.
  • Invoices received must be cross referenced against P/O /confirmation for cost and discrepancies flagged and resolved immediately
  • Liaise with Goods In team over Invoices received regarding the GRN (Goods Received Note) and any other factors that may hold up payment (missing items / damage etc) as soon as possible
  • Invoices must be authorised and issued through to accounts for payment within 5 working days of receipt
  • Responsible for managing all administrative related tasks relating to allocated projects
    • Liaise with Goods In team over Invoices received regarding the GRN (Goods Received Note) and any other factors that may hold up payment (missing items / damage etc) as soon as possible
    • Liaising directly with Goods In to pick materials by project/external company as and when required
    • Liaising directly with Transport to ensure Materials picked reach relevant destination within programme and request date time frames

Ideal candidate:
  • Previous experience in buying
  • Previous experience desirable of using ERP systems for raising orders/supplier admin
  • Confident user of MS Office suite particularly Excel
  • Strong and effective communicator
  • Highly organised with strong relationship building skills
  • Comfortable working in a demanding and fast paced environment

£14.00 Per hour

After training is completed flexible working from home is an option part of the week.
