Do you want to help shape the future of child contact centres? Have you got strategic vision and a passion for putting children’s interests first? NACCC is looking for trustees to help shape and influence its future strategic direction.
At NACCC we are primarily concerned with supporting our members and the existence of clear defined and applied standards in contact centres is critical. To assist us in reviewing and revising these standards NACCC and our members now have the benefit of an independent Standards Review Panel chaired by a judge.
Mainly at home
What will you be doing?
The association accredits its 340 member organisations as supported and supervised centres, both offering safe spaces where children can meet the parents they don’t live with, enhancing their emotional health and wellbeing.
The role of the association’s trustees is to support and challenge its executive and guide the organisation at this critical time, whilst member centres restore their services in a post pandemic world, with ever increasing referrals from social services and primary care.
What are we looking for?
The trustee board is looking to increase its flexibility and the skills it has to handle current and future challenges. The association has a unique role in what it does and works in close collaboration with partners to deliver its charitable objectives, particularly the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass).
We are especially seeking candidates who can help us better reflect the diverse composition of our member centre clients whilst also giving us the benefit of their expertise. We are particularly looking for candidates with knowledge and experience of one or more of the following:
- Social work
- Solicitor/barrister or other legal background, familiar with the family court system
- audit and finance committees
- Human resources
- Local or national policy
We particularly would welcome applications from minority ethnic communities who are currently under-represented on our trustee board.
What difference will you make?
The successful candidates will have a track record of leadership, strategic focus and personal achievement. As a trustee they will need the ability to influence the strategic direction of the organisation and have a passion for developing the quality of service provided by the association. They will also need to act as an ambassador and advocate for NACCC.
What’s in it for the volunteer?
We hold four trustee board meetings per year and an Annual General Meeting. Trustees are also expected to become involved in other activities to support the charity’s aims.
Either in or out of office hours.
Estimate of time needed: 0-5 hours / month.
