What is the role?
Our client in the space sector is looking for a Supply Chain Quality Manager.
You will act as the operational supplier interface and inspire trust & teamwork between our client & suppliers:
• Ensure on Quality, on Time deliveries to protect business operations, by managing milestones, product life cycle reviews and deliverables coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
• Protect production through correcting, improving and developing suppliers delivery and quality performance including related follow up of action plans
• Monitor, control and drive progress, Identify and Mitigate risks & opportunities, Communicate status & plans and Escalate where relevant
• Monitor and control supplier performance and define and lead/monitor recovery and improvement actions when needed, on live programs and in preparation of the future
• Manage corrective action plans to avoid re-occurrences and therefore reduce the number of deviations and concessions
• Defining product, supplier, site, qualification, inspection and surveillance plan with all relevant contributors
• Verify Compliance to applicable requirements and secure industrial Maturity (supplier capability & capacity) with product /supplier audit, inspection and assessment (APQP, Control Plan, Product Quality Issue Resolution and Management (Q6), Production Process Verification (FAI), Quality Gates End-to-End , Process Capability and Statistical Process Control, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), IPCA, CCP's, Transfer of Work.
• Contribute to deployment of SC&Q standards, methods & tools
• Lead VRB (Vendor Review Board) and represent SCQ operations in various forums (e.g. SED, TEB, MFT)
• Contribute to Sub-Commodity strategy through active participation to MFTs including supplier selection, contract set up and supplier development needs
• Act as a role model for Ethics and Compliance in day to day relationship with supplier
• Assess suppliers during tendering phase and contribute to the selection decision
• Manage/contribute to supply chain & quality aspects of the contract being responsible for On time, on Quality (and on Cost when applicable) performance This document is strictly confidential
• Manage supplier quality Approval ensure that suppliers are compliant with certifications required in coordination with relevant stakeholders
• Assess the Supplier capacity, capability & performance and contribute to the Supplier development
• Identify the supplier industrial risks and propose mitigation actions
• Work out short term recovery plans
• Initiate and manage supplier performance improvement projects,
• Report on supplier operational performance
• Apply the current associated tools to manage all activities related to supplier management
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
A degree in Engineering or Business Management
At least five years' experience in the space or aerospace sector
A track record of leading Quality improvement across all phases of the product lifecycle leading to reductions in the cost of Failure
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in the application of Root Cause Corrective Action methodologies such as 8D or similar
In depth knowledge of 6 sigma and associated tools such as FMEA and Control Plans
Excellent communication skills - written and verbal. Fluency in written and spoken English
Strong interpersonal skills
Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation and with customers and suppliers
Ability to effectively present information in team meetings and design reviews as needed
