We are looking for a Finance Officer to join Young People First on a part-time, permanent basis. The role is based in Leamington Spa and is for 16 hours per week.

As a Finance Officer, you will support the Chief Officer in aspects of the charity finances.

This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

What you will be offered as the Finance Officer:
  • Holiday entitlement of 27 days plus Bank Holidays
  • Salary of £12.26 - £14.21 per hour, dependent on experience
  • Pension Scheme

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Officer:
  • To ensure financial compliance requirements,
  • To support in managing the finances of the charity by keeping track of all income and spending,
  • To implement and follow proper financial policies and procedures,
  • To investigate any discrepancies by reviewing financial reports,
  • To ensure that the charity has adequate insurance coverage.

Other tasks of the Finance Officer include:
  • Preparing salaries,
  • Managing Invoices and submitting payments,
  • Responding to internal finance queries,
  • Record keeping on Sage,
  • Completing month end journals,
  • Preparing end of year accounts information on Sage,
  • Completing reports to HMRC,
  • Solving supplier queries,
  • Restocking stationery,
  • Archiving paperwork and destroying secure records
  • Liaising with HR,
  • Organising commercial insurance,
  • Updating Charity Commission and Trustees,
  • Respond to emails.

Skills and Experience of the ideal Finance Officer:
  • Proficient with an accounting software package,
  • Experience in finance related roles,
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy,
  • Excellent communications skills,
  • Trustworthy and professional,
  • Teamwork skills,
  • Passion about the cause of Young People First and caring towards others.
