The starting salary for this position is £40,227 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

This role is open to remote working meaning you aren't required in the office 5 days a week. We're less about you driving to work and more about us collectively driving down our carbon footprint. We care about how you work rather than where you work; the people rather than the postcode. In support of our people and our greener futures strategies, we'd welcome a conversation with the successful candidate on what remote working may look like for you.

The Surrey Pension Team are starting a new chapter with a refreshed vision and mission and ambitious plans for the future.
  • Our vision: To provide our customers with a better tomorrow
  • Our mission: To responsibly deliver a first-class customer experience

Our newly redesigned workforce is integral to achieving our aims and ambitions for the future and we are looking for a Future Benefits Manager to join our Service Delivery Team.

Managing ten team members you will have specific responsibility for:
  • Ensuring the accuracy of all early leaver benefit calculations and that they adhere to scheme legislation, discretionary employer policies, HMRC rules, GDPR/DPA legislation
  • Organising and distributing work within the team to ensure key performance indicators and payroll/payment deadlines are met
  • Responding to complaints and drafting responses to Internal Dispute Resolution and Pension Ombudsman cases, reporting these to the Head of Service Delivery
  • Ensuring structured delivery of training and checking understanding of all aspects of service delivery

Utilising your previous management experience and your ability to inspire and motivate, you will be a role model for your team. Your ability to demonstrate our Vision and Mission and work within a "one pensions team" culture is crucial to our success. It is expected that applicants will also have significant practical or professional experience and understanding gained within a Pensions environment.

Taking a holistic whole Pensions Team approach will drive opportunities for all staff to increase their career opportunities by broadening experience across the whole of the Pension service.

At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the values we follow.
