Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a large public sector organisation in the North West, who are looking to recruit a Assistant Director of Finance - Financial Services and Improvement

  • Reporting to the Deputy Chief Finance Officer, the post holder will lead the Financial Accounting (FA), Treasury Services (TS) and Financial Improvement, Reporting & Systems (FIRS) teams within the Finance and Procurement department
  • The post holder will be responsible for the oversight of the preparation, approval and audit of the annual financial statements, annual report and all associated returns to NHSE/I. As the key point of contact for external and internal audit they will attend all Audit Sub-Committees of the Board and will provide updates to Non-Executive Directors when required
  • Working with the Chief Finance Officer and Executive Director of Strategy and Partnerships, the post holder will be responsible for the financial oversight of the organisations capital programme. This will include all submissions and reporting to NHSE/I and the ICS and ongoing management of the Capital Management Group
  • The post holder will work with the CFO and Deputy CFO in the development of the medium term financial strategy for the Trust and lead on its implementation, with particular emphasis on balance sheet and working capital aspects of the strategy
  • The post holder will lead on the organisation's ambitious plans to deliver best-in-class finance systems and information to all levels of the organisation. The post covers a wide remit managing complex and sensitive aspects of financial work and involves working with other professionals at a senior level both within the organisation and with partner organisations

  • Able to communicate in a variety of methods: written, verbal and presentational including report writing
  • Communicate on a wide range of highly complex financial and non-financial issues
  • Communicate with a wide variety of people at all levels both within the organisation and externally
  • Strong Analytical Skills to make judgements on complex financial and non-financial problems
  • Knowledge and understanding in general of the application of value for money and other performance measures
  • Skills to present highly complex financial and non-financial information to meet the needs of others
  • Skills to establish implement and maintain procedures and routines to aid the effective operation of a large and complex organisation
  • Ability to interpret and act on general policy and guidance and ensure compliance with the organisations Standing Orders, Standing Financial Instructions, and Scheme of Delegation
