The Project Manager will manage automated equipment projects for various Swisslog customers. Typical customer projects include storage and retrieval systems, conveyors, pallet stacker cranes, AGV's and robotics.

Your tasks:

Leadership
  • Establish, manage and motivate mixed (Swisslog and client), cross-functional realization project team
  • Leverage team member's skills / experience to enhance the project team's results
  • Influence and convince customers, sub-suppliers, direct reports and managers

Analytical thinking
  • Increase project benefit and prevent project risks by appropriate risk management
  • Selection of potential sub-contractors for the project in cooperation with other company functions (engineering, control system etc.)

Technical / commercial knowledge & planning
  • Regularly perform and update critical path analysis
  • Elaborate contracts with sub-contractors, minimizing risks for Swisslog

Team work & integrity
  • Give support to the Sales department in the contract definition phase and in future relationship for extensions and/or new business
  • Ensures the issue of the project documentation according to the Swisslog quality standards
  • Ensures Sub-contractors supply on the required level of quality (CE, validation, etc.)

Results oriented
  • Lead responsibility that all the project specifications (layout, functional, acceptance test specs. etc.) are timely issued and detailed enough to avoid technical and contractual risks for Swisslog
  • Assume a constant attention and motivation in claim management towards the sub-contractors

Customer focus
  • Represent Swisslog and take responsibility for the customer
  • On-site consultation / assistance at customer meetings, with the support of the site manager (if any) and/or by the IM when ever needed


Your Profile:

  • Technical engineer (college level) or high school qualification with adequate experience
  • Previous experience in project management or work with a project methodology approach in a technical and customer-oriented environment
  • Project Management experience in a complex engineering environment ideally automated equipment
  • Proven experience of managing successful long-term projects
  • Previous experience working in the logistics industry desirable
  • Technical understanding of Automation Software, supplier components (cranes, conveyors, AGV etc.) would be advantageous
