Long term contract role which may lead to a permanent position:

Mon - Fri 2.00pm - 10.00pm

The company is a UK leading organisation specialising in major mechanical and electrical engineering installations within the food processing industry. The huge range of work carried out by the company includes process pipework and plant installations, planned and preventive maintenance, environmental services, fire and security installations and many other engineering services associated with the food and beverage industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a packaging operative - skilled labourer to join the mechanical engineering division, supporting a major project in Birmingham.


As a suitably experienced packaging operative - skilled labourer you will be working within a clean well- maintained workshop packaging high value assemblies, prior to onward transportation. Primary responsibilities will include: assembling guard frames, fixing assorted packaging to sub-assemblies, securing external protection and cladding larger components ensuring the product is correctly packaged to prevent damage during transit. Other duties will include ensuring all products are packed in-line with the company quality standards and working on your own initiative to drive standards forward. The role will also include assisting colleagues where necessary and ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with the workshop health and safety policy.

About You

Based in the Birmingham area you will need to live within a short commutable distance of B24 9PJ.

Previous packaging experience is preferred, ideally within an engineering environment with an appreciation of packaging materials such as flexibles and corrugated packaging.


In return for your experience, you will receive a salary between £9.50 and £10.50 per hour as well as a range of other benefits.
