High growth business operating in the engineering and construction space have created a new role for a qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) Finance Manager to join their leadership team. This will the businesses first hire at this level within finance as they look to bring their accounts in house, to further support their growth plans.

Reporting into the Managing Director you will take full ownership of the finance function, with full autonomy to take the existing processes and improve as you see fit for the business. As well as ensuring of timely and accurate accounting you will support the MD with budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management, and provide MI to help with securing new business.

Key Responsibilities include;
  • Oversee monthly and yearly accounts for the business
  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
  • Preparation of Financial Statements
  • Interaction with stakeholders across the business and external customers
  • Motivate and lead finance team member(s) by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback
  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
  • Manage cashflow for the business, identifying and highlighting potential risks to the MD
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
  • Develop draft budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports
  • Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
  • Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
  • Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
  • Report to the MD with timely and accurate financial information
  • Assist the MD in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and external customers

Key Skills Preferred;
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) 2+ years PQE
  • Finance experience within the construction, engineering sector is desirable
  • Experience in a business or finance environment
  • Leadership skills, interpersonal skills, outstanding mathematical skills
  • Honesty; integrity; reliability
  • Solid written and verbal communication skill
  • Strong attention to detail organisational skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, research skills,analytical skills, computer skills
