Life Skills Tutor

If this sounds like you, we are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our Plants and Produce Life Skills Service as a permanent, part-time Life Skills Tutor.
Our Plants and Produce Life Skills Service is a plant nursery operating from the Rare Breeds Centre. The service grows and sells quality produce whilst supporting adults with a learning disability to gain new skills and qualifications.
As a Life Skills Tutor you will support the development of students with planned learning and training to achieve their learning requirements and/or aspirations.
About you
As a Life Skills Tutor you will ideally have:
a sound horticultural knowledge and a range of practical gardening skills
experience of supporting adults with a learning disability
ideally a vocational qualification relevant to horticulture
excellent written and verbal communication skills, including problem solving
the ability to remain calm and instill confidence in those around you
The Role
As a Life Skills Tutor your responsibilities will include the following:
The design, delivery and evaluation of planned learning and training to our students
Assessing the progress of students and providing developmental feedback tailored to the needs of individual students
To assist with any service specific projects designed to enhance the learning and well-being needs of our students
Hours
35 hours per week (Mon - Fri)
There may be a requirement to work some hours at weekends
Pay and Benefits
Annual Salary: £!7,472 pa based on 35 hrs/wk (FTE £18,720 pa)
22 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays; Additional annual leave for 3,4 and 5 years continuous service
