15ten15 are currently recruiting for a Fitter on behalf of a leading global manufacturing company based in Dewsbury.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to Personal Protective Equipment requirements.
  • Inform maintenance manager or Shift Manager of problems and operational concerns.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and problem resolutions.
  • Participate in continuous process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as required, including clean-up duties.
  • Always ensure correct handover between shifts has been done efficiently and smoothly, and all relevant information communicated and written down, reporting to the maintenance manager
  • Regularly check the computer SFOL ( shop floor online ) to ensure current machines are all running
  • High standards should always apply to your working area and environment
  • You should always prioritise production stoppages over daily duties or discuss with your maintenance manager or shift manager priorities
  • Maintain Regular communication talks with the machine foreman and other team leaders to discuss any relevant issues.
  • always communicate with the appropriate machine foreman if dealing with any mechanical breakdown
  • You must always follow the correct SSOW ( safe system of work) procedures during any mechanical breakdown when working on machines.
  • Health and Safety to yourself and others must always be a priority
  • you must never use any tools or equipment out of their specification
  • routine maintenance schedules will be carried out to maintenance schedule plan PPM ( preventative planning maintenance)
  • Follow the correct check procedure for use of any lifting aids or ladders
  • You may be required to undertake weekly audits and stock checklists for priority parts
  • Your KPI board must always be up to date with relevant information to pass on to your work colleagues

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Skills
  • Have good practical skills for using tools
  • Be good at problem-solving
  • To understand technical manuals and engineering diagrams
  • Have good communication skills
  • Able to work quickly, under pressure and to deadlines
  • Be able to work on your own or as part of a team
  • Be aware of health and safety issues.

Knowledge Experience & Qualifications
  • Apprentice trained fitter
  • GSCE (or equivalent) In Maths and English Language.
  • Demonstrated proficiency, through pre-employment testing, in reading comprehension, writing and basic maths calculations in the English language.
  • Knowledge and use of computerised equipment and machinery are preferred.
  • Experience in textiles carding machines would be an advantage but not necessary
  • Previous experience in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Able to use problem-solving techniques to help minimise production downtime
  • Good absence and attendance record
